*How
did you find out about this real estate company?
I was recommended to Century 21 Hariki Komuten by a close friend. He told me that
Yasuyuki was an honest and hard working person and that I could trust him to do
a good job.
*What were the important factors that affected
your house choice?
The most important thing was the design of the house. I wanted an “open plan”
style house with lots of light, also larger sized rooms. I also wanted a good
sized parking place for my car.
*What were some of the problems you encountered
while trying to find your ideal house?
I visited many houses and was disappointed by the old style design. What I mean
by this is small windows letting in little light, lots of small rooms and a claustrophobic
feeling.
*What were your main concerns after you decided
to buy your house?
When I made the final decision I was very concerned about the many rules and regulations
in regard to housing loans and other official regulations. Thank fully Yasuyuki
took care of everything for me and during the whole process explained clearly
every step. This was particularly comforting.
*What
were your feelings during the process?
I felt that that Yasuyuki took his job very seriously. I was impressed by his
work ethic and the fact that nothing was too much to ask. He represented me well
was a great help to secure the housing loan and managed to negotiate a very good
price. Other companies that I had talked to did not make me feel comfortable and
I always felt that they just wanted to make the sale as soon as possible. But
Yasuyuki always took his time and looked after me very well.
*After you bought the house what changes
did you make?
After I bought the house I wanted to change a few things. For example I wanted
an enclosed garage to be able to lock-up my stuff. I wanted to change the style
of the garden and paint the house a different color to make it stand out a little
better.
*If
you were to buy or build another house what factors would be important to you?
I would build a similar house with lots of big windows and a large deck. I would
also make sure that the parking spot was a little wider. I would also like to
have a more modern and dynamic kitchen area, and of course a bigger bath.
*Once you have bought the house what additional
roles would you hope your real estate agent to manage?
I like to keep in touch with Yasuyuki and if there are any problems he would fix
them quickly. Also if in the future I would like sell the house and buy a larger
property I would like his help in doing this.
*What advice would you give people and what
mistakes do you feel people make during their house buy process?
My felling is that many people buy the wrong house for them selves. This is because
they received bad advice in regard to house loans, location and house type. Also
they are not aware of what kind of property they could afford. Sometimes they
also buy a house which is too expensive. All these financial considerations should
be carefully considered and the real estate company has a strong obligation to
give honest unbiased advice. Also please remember not to rush. Take your time
see lots of houses and then you can make a good decision. Also remember to ask
yourself one simple question. Will I be happy to live in the house for many years.
This may seem like a simple question but in fact it is often ignored, because
money issues affect your decision.
